This is the most shocking and sad thing... Mama birds living out in the ocean are mistaking the giant island of colourful plastic as food, and they are feeding it to their babies, which of course can never be digested, so their bellies become full and they die.
We need to very carefully examine what products we are buying. If something can be purchased without being canned, bottled or packaged, then it should be. I caught myself the other week reaching for a can of diced tomatoes, but then put it back because I realized how stupid it was- I normally buy fresh tomatoes- no packaging - duh.
It's so easy to become mesmerized when shopping, so make a list before you go, and just really think about what it is we are doing to this beautiful, living planet.
Love you all. I know you are trying :)
xoxo
