Hey guys! It's that time of the year when you just want a fresh start to everything, so... we're doing a detox for 30 days :)
We have a group of us that are going to do the lemonade detox- often known as the Master Cleanse Detox, which means we drink a very specific mixture of pure water, fresh, organic lemon juice, grade B maple syrup (also known as #2 Amber or Dark, in Canada), and cayenne pepper. This may sound weird, but it actually tastes great (to me anyway).
The detox involves no other food. I know this sounds extreme, but it makes you feel wonderful! 1 litre of salt water is to be drunk in the morning (which will go right through you, doing a sweep of the bowels), and then a laxative tea can be taken before bed (which will allow you to expel much more in the morning). After two weeks of this detox you will be amazed that you are still expelling... sounds gross, but it's needed. We are storing so much "crap" inside our bodies and it has to exit or it will help to cause a whole slew of malfunctions and diseases eventually.
If you are feeling low energy, or are craving ridiculous things like baguettes, chips or other heavy carbs, just add a little bit more maple syrup to the lemonade. You should not feel tired or weak while doing this detox (at least it has been my experience that I have more energy than I ever did before).

hi lyn! wow, 30 days on the master cleanse - much positive vibes your way. i'm currently doing a five day green juice and smoothie detox to cap off a 21+ day raw vegan cleanse. maybe i'll join you for a few days in the master cleanse next week. keep us posted on your experience! :)
