Lady Gaga is obviously not afraid to express herself, but her VMAs meat dress may be causing some controversy amongst animal lovers. The pop star explained her decision to wear the outlandish outfit to Ellen DeGeneres who gave her another wardrobe suggestion.
"I get most of your outfits. I really do but I saw the cover of Japanese Vogue and you have a meat bikini on. ... You have the meat bikini on and now the meat dress... because I'm vegan," Ellen told the eight-time 2010 VMA winner. "What is the purpose of the meat?"
Gaga defended her getup, telling the talk show host, "Well, it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian. As you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth. However, it has many interpretations but for me this evening if we don't stand up for what we believe in and if we don't fight for our rights pretty soon we're going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones. And, I am not a piece of meat." (this was taken from the Entertainment Tonight website)
I usually love Lady Gaga because she's so creative and daring, but all I can say about this is what a waste of an animal's life. Here's a video I found about the get-up:
