I got an email last night from a 16 year old girl who said she is vegan, but feels so lost because she can't seem to make much of a difference. First of all, deciding to go with a vegan lifestyle at such a young age is remarkable, and very inspiring. Most people will never even get close to what she has accomplished.
I do see more and more souls choosing this route though, and it keeps me going when I feel depressed and lost about the very same things. When I get an email from someone who is so sincere and wants to know what more they can do, it makes me believe there is hope - that there are compassionate and thoughtful people breathing the same air as me.
So for all of you out there who check in periodically with the beautiful vegan crew, we love you with all of our hearts, and want to let you know that You are changing the world. You are making a big difference. You are beautiful.

Beautiful post, I know how it feels to be that young and just new to the vegan life. I turned vegan a month or two before my 16th birthday. Just gotta keep ya head up and reach that goal that you wanna reach no matter what comes your way. 19 years old now and still a proud raw food vegan=) Keep up the posting and check out my page if you have a chance! http://givinghealth.blogspot.com/

Best of luck!
I wish I had know about vegetarianism & veganism when I was younger(I'm in my 20s)... I grew up in the south and I was raised in a "steak and potatos" household. But after living in Cali for a while I met different people at farmers markets and learned about co-ops..From there my network kept growing, you see I'm in love with learning about nutrition. And it all lead to veganism. I am not yet a vegan but I am vegetarian.. I've just recently given up eggs as well. But somereason I having a hard time shaking the cheese addiction.... I am determined and on my way!I just started a blog about my journey... And for the girl who feels as though she is not making a difference... She is contributing to a better world.. one day and one animal at a time... way more of a difference than the guy driving the hybrid car on the freeway eating a cheeseburger!! Whhoo hoo GO VEGAN

you have an amazing blog/site. it is really truly inspiring. i stumbled across your blog several months while i was living in indonesia and i just wanted to let you know it was you who inspired me to become vegan-and then a raw vegan. everything you post here is so eye opening and i cannot thank you enough for doing what you do.
rock on girl
Yay! Thank you for such an uplifting blog! I just turned vegan after 2 years of being vegetarian, and it gets really hard sometimes, especially since I dont know anyone else vegan. A big challenge for me is always having to almost defend my choice to my friends and family, even strangers. People are curios, but sometimes in a sort of malignant way. It seems they get provoked and baffled when i tell them im almost never sick, never have head aches, stomach aches etc. I feel great, and people tell me I look better than ever, but its like their ears clog up and they get into a raging defens mode when we talk about veganism. I really, reaally try to be as casual about it as possible, so they dont get the idea that im trying to transform them or something (AS IF id bother to, but for some reason that a big concern). All in all, i think its because theire scared of feeling bad about eating animals when they enjoy it so much and dont want or know how to go without. I Never talk about it at parties, or when going out, thats when it gets the most agressive. Hahaha, I think this has been laying on my heart for awhile.. Anyways, thank you for being such an inspiration. You guys are fierce
